Heavy Civil Project Manager

We are looking for a motivated and skilled professional to oversee all aspects of project management, from planning to execution, in a positive and supportive work environment. Responsibilities

Lead project safety by adhering to all company requirements and correcting any violations on-site.

  • Strategically plan project work and procure materials with a focus on safety
  • Develop and mentor project engineers within the division
  • Collaborate with estimators to ensure effective bidding and project handover
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and vendors
  • Prepare, track, and obtain all necessary project documentation, including submittals and material certifications
  • Manage project budgets, understand financials, and optimize cash flow
  • Prepare and submit all records for project change orders
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors
  • Identify, pursue, and secure fair compensation for changes in project scope
  • Actively seek creative solutions to increase project revenue and save costs while maintaining high quality standards
  • Maintain accurate project files, drawings, and production records

Qualifications

At least five (5) years of construction experience (preferably road construction).

  • Direct experience with road and/or heavy civil construction projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and estimating
  • The ability to prepare detailed subcontractor scopes of work
  • Familiarity with pricing, purchasing, and preparing purchase orders for materials and equipment
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of a construction organization, from on-site crews to executives

What will set you apart (Preferred)

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • A four-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Familiarity with HCSS products (HeavyJob and HeavyBid) or other construction management software
  • Experience with advanced project management tools, such as scheduling software
  • Experience in GDOT project management
  • A strong ambition to grow with the company and expand leadership skills
