CELL LEADER

Position Summary: The Cell Leader directs, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating and optimizing production machines and support equipment of industrial plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate workflow for production cell.
• Ensure MES is accurately updated in production cell.
• Ensure production targets are being met.
• Follow appropriate escalation for all safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
• Reports safety related issues for all production areas and equipment (EHS).
• Trains employees as needed
• Complete necessary documentation related to Production Reporting
• Address all safety issues for machinery and support equipment
• Coordinate activities with Maintenance, shift leader, and other Leaders to ensure customer requirements are met including additional hours in support of customer demand.
• Communicates with and assists other manufacturing departments as needed and cells as needed.
• Evaluates the condition of production equipment and makes and/or requests repairs and adjustments as necessary to meet customer demand.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers; meets 6S requirements. 6S cell owner.
• Compiles and analyzes production records
• Confirmation and completion of Production Orders in SAP
• Support activities involving ISO14001 and IATF 16949
• Production pallet sign-off.
• Participate in root cause analysis/Kaizen events.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Experience and Education:

• Good coaching and communication skills
• Comfortable leading in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
• Able to deal with complex issues in manufacturing setting
• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 1 – 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to read and interpret documents such as schematics, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and metric system. Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May act as backup to the shift supervisor if necessary. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
